Dear UR graduates, I am delighted to have this opportunity, on behalf of UR Alumni members to say one word or two, today, 10th December 2016, a day of your graduation that will never be forgotten in your life. This is the fruit of your invaluable efforts, hard work and commitment. We are proud of you.
On this occasion, I would wish to inform you that UR Alumni welcomes you all, to already existing big family of former students who graduated from all UR colleges in different Academic years, right from 1963; a year in which National University of Rwanda (NUR) was created.
UR Alumni members will pleasantly connect you to the big network which will by all means let you join, interact, work and network with many experts of your areas of specialization.
As it is said “If you want to run fast, run alone. But, if you want to run far run together.” So, please come and run with us in this competitive world of work.
We expect a lot from you not only as fresh graduates, young and energetic, knowledgeable and skilled members, but also as people full of humanity and wisdom, integrity, patriotism, resilience, spirit of self-reliance and social transformation and real Pan-Africanists. The created synergy will contribute much in sustainable development of our country; Rwanda, national dignity and global betterment.
As Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning, Keeping together is progress, and Working together is Success.” So, let us struggle together to success.
I would wish with a particular note, to salute the endless efforts made by University of Rwanda in nurturing and producing real agents for positive socio-economic change.
In conclusion, thank you, Chancellor Sir, for the network you created when you initiated UR Alumni. We will benefit from it indeed, and we wish UR starts benefitting from us. I think there is a lot your former students can contribute in the UR Development.
Once again Congratulations!
May God bless you all.
